Going Rogue Festival 2014-11-14 - Grapevine Texas Prepper Show
Most would agree that complete self-reliance, while possible, is difficult, rare and an inefficient way to live. Far better for most of us is to have a chosen community of people to cooperate with. Good neighbors may be some of the best assets you ever have, second only to a good family. And this December, like-minded “neighbors” can be found at the Going Rogue Festival. SAMPLE TOPICS Here are just a few of the topics our experts will be exploring in lectures and workshops: Home gardens provide tax-free food, better food, food that can be traded with friends and neighbors (for better food), productive work for children, enjoyable work for all, and a measure of self-sufficiency. Whether large or small, a home garden is a pleasant addition to life. Did you know that community currencies were not only legal, but have been used for decades in some places? It’s true, and you can do the same for your community. Offshore trusts are the great tool of the wealthy, conveying immense benefits to them. But they are available to anyone, and the cost of creating one is probably not what you think it is. And can even be created and managed from your couch. There are wonderful new technologies becoming available right now: Self-constructed farming robots, vertical farming systems, power alternatives, 3D printing (essentially a factory on a table-top), personal drones, and much, much more. We’ll demo some of the most promising. Precious metals have been important to freedom and prosperity for thousands of years. They are honest money, chosen by the marketplace (people), independent of any bank, regulator or national government. Rulers and empires have come and gone, but gold and silver were money five thousand years ago, two thousand years ago, and they remain money today – and more important than ever. Predicting the future is notoriously difficult, of course, but we can’t exclude the possibility of a very serious societal breakdown. So, if that were to happen, how would you make your way through it? It’s all about preparedness – short-term and long-haul. What things and skills are prudent to gather in advance? The Internet is one of the finest and most powerful tools we’ve ever had, and even though the NSA and many other groups are abusing the Internet daily (and may abuse it worse in the future), we can and should keep using it… and using it securely. Learn how you can stay secure with a minimum of effort, and even how we can stay connected in the event of a complete Internet shut-down. You don’t have to be a farmer to create, run, enjoy, and benefit from a mini or micro farm. You’ll have a chance to learn all about it – A to Z Stay tuned as additional topics and experts come on board. |
